** In Mexico, although the law does not mention it, the offense of incest on a minor woman (of age lower than 18 years), is compared to that of the rape, and consequently the abortion is also authorized in this case.

*** In these States, the law stipulates a term of pregnancy to practice abortion: between 75 days and three months starting from the rape or beginning of the pregnancy. See GIRE (2005, and 2006).

The States of San Luís Potosí, Morelos, and the Federal District of Mexico City modified their legislation in 2000; the State of Veracruz modified it in 2003 and it came into effect in 2004; and that of Baja California Sur modified it in March 2005 and it came into effect in September of the same year.
