Abstract : The mortality in 15 villages in South-West Uganda was studied in relation to HIV infection." The results quantify the greatly increased mortality due to HIV infection in Africa, particularly among those aged 25-34, even in an area where the overall HIV-1 adult prevalence rate is relatively low.
