These interventions should focus on 1) strengthening the capacity of families to cope with their problems; 2) stimulating and strengthening community-based responses; 3) ensuring the protection of vulnerable children and providing essential services; 4) building the capacity of children to support themselves; 5) creating an environment for affected children and families; and 6) monitoring the impact of HIV/AIDS on children and families.
