Abstract : Save the Children (UK) commissioned a situational analysis of existing knowledge and responses to stigma and discrimination against children and youth infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. This document reports on the participatory workshops that explore the role of stigma and discrimination in increasing the vulnerability of children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS. The aspects of the terms of reference that relate to the participatory workshops are presented. It also includes a presentation of the findings of the workshops. These findings are analyzed in terms of two focus areas, namely, how stigma and discrimination increase the vulnerability of children infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS and on how HIV/AIDS impacts on children and youth's access to their rights. Finally, this document provides some recommendations on a strategy for intervention in relation to the data collected through the participatory workshops.
