Abstract : Suggestions are presented for improving postabortion care in primary level facilities. Three sections describe the evolution of postabortion care in the region, describe the analysis and recommendations of an international technical work group meeting in Nicaragua to discuss postabortion care, and present the discussion guides and other materials used in the meetings as well as policy statements of institutions important in the field.
